May want to also do a 'search' for "Set Default Programs" and open the Default Programs control panel and click on "Set your default programs" and scroll down to "Windows Disk Image Burner" and click on "Choose defaults for this program" and see if.

ISO files are already associated with Windows Explorer, and Autoplay settings are already at default on. It could also be worth noting that the install of Anniversary update was actually just a windows reset of an anniversary update build that was already installed, which could potentially mean the original install was corrupted in some way.
If we can't find a solution that doesn't involve resetting, or reinstalling Windows, I'll just end up opting for a completely fresh install of Windows. The file mounts as a drive letter in File Explorer, but does not auto-play autorun. I do not get the option to run or install from media. I can even run those that can be properly run from anywhere. If you would like to continue helping me troubleshoot this, you have a limited window.
I'm working on backing everything up that I can, and will be wiping the entire PC to perform a complete, fresh reinstall of Windows This will probably be completed by the end of the week.
If you are decided to perform a fresh installation, we have a related thread for you by Greg Carmack that talks about the best practices when performing a clean installation in Windows Keep us posted if you encounter any challenge along the process. Thanks for the link. I'm pretty good at clean installs, so I didn't need it. The backup was completed just after I posted to this thread yesterday, so I did the clean install this morning. This issue still persists, even with a clean install of Windows 10 Creators Update.
This is with all options set at default, and no 3rd party software installed at all. I mount the image, it mounts it to a drive, and immediately opens the mounted drive in a window, but all other issues mentioned above are still present.

If information on the link above won't resolve your issue, I would suggest that you use an ISO Mounting application. Please make sure to follow the manual on how to use the above-mentioned tools to ensure you don't encounter an issue. I'm currently using the Daemon Tools for my games.
I wasn't trying to use an ISO mounting app, if I didn't have to. It looks like I have no choice, because this feature is obviously broken for me. The steps provided in the link you gave are all of the ways I've tried to mount, and use. The tools you listed are all paid options, and their free versions do not do everything I need. Since this behavior is not common in Creators Update, I suggest starting over and this time following the steps closely in Clean Install Windows 10 which compiles everything that works best in Windows 10 and has zero reported complaints from hundreds of thousands of users.
